Separate theory, workplace evidence and licensing assessment
Practical evidence needs a documented and lawful training setting.
Authentic workplace evidence matters
UEEEL0012 Release 2 is dated 19 July 2022; its assessment-conditions content was updated on 15 October 2024. Performance evidence marked # must be gathered in authentic workplace operational conditions, not simulation, before competence is decided. This rule does not specify a universal number of placement hours.
The integrated unit is not a universal licence test
UEEEL0039 Release 3 is dated 29 November 2024. It integrates installation planning, work, inspection, testing and reporting. Jurisdiction licensing assessments, including Victoria’s LEA, are separate where required.
Apply each unit’s own conditions. UEEEL0039 uses workplace assessment where appropriate, otherwise a suitable simulated workplace in line with industry and regulatory policy. Assessors of the relevant ERAC essential performance capabilities must hold a current unrestricted electrician licence. HLTAID009 permits simulated CPR assessment on manikins. Neither rule replaces the specific UEEEL0012 hash-mark requirement.
